Welcome to My Diving Call ("Platform", "we", "us", "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.
Information We Collect
When you use My Diving Call, we may collect:
- Name and username
- Email address
- Professional diving credentials and agency identification numbers
- Profile information you choose to provide
- Reviews, comments, messages, posts and other content submitted by you
- Device and browser information
- Usage information relating to your activity on the Platform
Why We Collect Information
We use your information to:
- Technically host your account
- Verify professional diving credentials
- Display the profile information you choose to provide
- Show reviews based on visibility funnels decided by users
- Facilitate communication between users
- Improve the Platform and user experience
- Detect fraud, abuse and fake reviews
- Comply with legal obligations
Professional Verification
Professional divers may voluntarily submit professional identification numbers for verification purposes. Verification information is used solely to confirm professional status and improve trust within the community.
Sign in with Google
My Diving Call offers the option to create an account and sign in using Google OAuth (“Sign in with Google”). If you choose this method, Google will share certain information from your Google account with us, limited to:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your Google profile picture (if available)
- Your Google account identifier
We use this information solely to:
- Create and identify your My Diving Call account
- Pre-fill your profile name and email address
- Enable you to sign in without creating a separate password
We do not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google service. The only data we receive from Google is what is listed above. Google user data received through Sign in with Google is:
- Not sold to third parties
- Not shared with third parties except as described in the Data Sharing section of this policy
- Retained only for as long as your account remains active or as required by law
- Deleted or anonymized upon account deletion as described in our User Data Deletion Policy
Our use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google Maps and Places Services
My Diving Call uses Google Maps Platform services, including the Google Maps JavaScript API and Places API (New), to provide map displays, location search, address autocomplete, and location-related functionality within the Platform.
When you use these features, information such as search terms, partial addresses, selected locations, IP address, device information, and other technical data may be transmitted directly to Google in order to provide maps, location suggestions, and related services. The processing of such information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Google Maps Platform Terms of Service.
My Diving Call does not store the address or location queries you enter beyond what is necessary to provide the requested functionality. However, if you choose to save a location, address, dive operation, training location, or other geographic information as part of your profile, review, post, listing, or other content, that information will be stored as part of your account data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
By using location-related features of the Platform, you acknowledge that certain information may be processed by Google to provide mapping and location services. Google's Privacy Policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Google Maps Platform Terms of Service are available at https://maps.google.com/help/terms_maps/.
Public Content
Reviews, ratings, comments, profile information and other content you publish may be visible to other users and visitors of the Platform. Professional users and diving centers can decide to leave anonymous reviews or reviews by their name. Reviews a dive operation leaves for a professional are visible to the reviewer, the reviewee and to dive operations — such reviews can be set as anonymous or not anonymous. Reviews a professional leaves for another professional are visible to the reviewer, the reviewee and to dive operations — such reviews can be set as anonymous or not anonymous.
Any user can decide to make a post on the homepage anonymous. Any user that wants to reply to an anonymous post can decide to do so anonymously or related to their own account.
Please avoid publishing personal information you do not wish to make public.
The author of anonymous posts or replies or reviews is technically saved in the system database for audit reasons, but such content remains anonymous on the Platform. The system administrator can reach out to authors of anonymous posts to make them more sensitive about the community guidelines and take any needed corrective action up to preventing further access to the Platform.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Information may be shared:
- With service providers supporting Platform operations
- When required by law
- To investigate fraud, abuse or safety concerns
Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access your data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Object to certain processing activities
